March is here.
Before we move forward, I need to pause and honor what February represented.
For me, the word was Versatility.
Not just because it sounds good but because it tells the truth. Black people have always had to be versatile. In classrooms, in boardrooms, in neighborhoods, in movements. Historically, when systems were not designed for us, we became designers. When doors were closed, we built entrances. When narratives were limited, we authored new ones.
That spirit shaped my entire February.
February Recap: A Month of Movement
During Black History Month, I committed to showing what versatility looks like in action.
• I supported a State of the Schools Summit, where we had honest conversations about how to support children inside systems that were never designed with them in mind. We didn’t just critique the system we strategized around it.
• I traveled to Philadelphia for a children’s author event, signed and sold over 60 books, and connected with families who are hungry for stories that reflect their children’s brilliance.
• I was interviewed on America in Black and White podcast, where we discussed empowerment, education, and what it truly means to uplift community through literacy and leadership.
• I launched my new website a fresh digital home for the work we’re building check it out: https://www.energizededucator.com/
• I returned to Coppin State University for Homecoming. That campus is where I earned my bachelor’s degree in 2015 and where my teaching journey began. Walking those grounds reminded me that legacy is not accidental it’s built.
• I represented Morgan State University as a doctoral student ambassador, standing in rooms that once felt distant and now feel aligned with purpose.
• I supported future homeowners by attending the Live Baltimore Trolley Tour to shift the narrative around home ownership because educational equity and economic empowerment are connected.
And finally…
• I released my new book, Teach the Curriculum a direct nod to educational equity. It’s short, practical, and intentional. Tenish dollars. Accessible. Actionable. Designed for educators who are ready to move beyond compliance and into consciousness.

The Shift: What’s Next for Energized Educator
I want to share something important with you.
Yes, behavior work remains core to what I do. Supporting schools, especially those serving Black boys, is still deeply personal and necessary.
But I am expanding.
I am transitioning from just behavior coaching to experience creation for children.
Helping schools design transformative moments. Helping educators craft their stories. Helping communities build narratives that affirm identity. Helping leaders rethink what support really looks like.
Keep your eyes open.
March is about momentum. And we’re just getting started.
